In Hollywood over the last few years there has been a rise in a phenomenon known as “mockbusters“. This is a movie which is released at the same time as a blockbuster, with a similar title, but direct to DVD. For example, when Michael Bay’s Transformers was released, a low budget “Transmorphers” was put out on DVD.
It’s safe to say I’ve been one of the people over the last week or two to be constantly monitoring the tweets of @milessi (Miles Jacobsen, MD of Sports Interactive), to see if he’ll finally give us the release date of the demo so we can all whet our appetites before the official release on October 21st. Plunge into the most ambitious action RPG ever released on iOS! Become Ayden, a young hero chosen by the god Uryah to save the kingdom of Lasgalen from the Apocalypse. Sacred Odyssey: Rise of Ayden is an amazing adventure in a majestic world that will fascinate you for countless hours.
Monkey games! What is it about monkeys and games that mix so well? Donkey Kong, Ape Escape, Enslaved, Sim City, X Factor… all great games with monkeys in them (no, not Space Chimps).
Ok, I will admit it. I love Star Wars! I am not crazily fanatical about it though, but I do get a wee bit excited when I see a Star Wars branded video game. I am also very tolerant when Star Wars do something rubbish. In fact I go on record and say I actually quite like Ewok’s, and even Jar Jar Binks (it would be wude not to really). So my tolerance level is very, very high (hums the theme to myself).
Mobile phone games are not exactly the greatest time wasters in the universe. I have recently swapped out an iphone for the Windows phone and would admit that I was not expecting much from the games available.
