There are some games that occasionally just don’t register on my radar, and Syndicate was one of them. Please note that the main word in that previous sentence: was. I had the pleasure of heading down to the EA offices in Guildford to go hands-on with a level from the co-op campaign.
You may (or may not) have seen a trailer showing off a survival game from Ubisoft, entitled I am Alive. This post-apocalyptical story leads one man through the rubble of a city to find his wife and daughter. There’s a lot of dust, and some nifty fighting too.
I like Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. I like it a lot. Now usually when I get a chance to preview a game when I come back to write about it, we usually go with the Death By Robots faithful of ‘what I think of the game, I will take you through step by step what I did’: “I created my character and then I launched the game and then I swung my sword about and then I spoke to an NPC”… that kind of thing. But not today, oh no.
It looks like Razer could be bringing the coolest gadget of the year to market – “Project Fiona”. Unveiled at CES, you are staring at the first dedicated gaming tablet.
I’ll never forget the conversation I had with the cashier in the game shop in the small, unremarkable town I grew up in. It was the dawn of the Xbox 360 era, and up until that point I had been a fence-sitter in the previous generation’s Xbox/PS2 war. As a result I had been rather non-committal as to which console to jump on board with for the next generation, but something was about to turn the tide.
THQ have today released images of our beloved South Park characters, as seen in the upcoming RPG, simply titled South Park: The Game.
Back in 1991 SEGA unleashed their new mascot, a speedy blue hedgehog named Sonic. Sonic sped onto the Megadrive and Master System, kicking Alex Kidd to the kerb – becoming one of the 16bit generations most favourite heroes. Unfortunately time has not been kind to one of my gaming heroes.

The game has been available for only 16 days now, and 6.5 of those days have been spent playing Football Manager 12… and it is for that reason that my review of the game comes somewhat belatedly. It is however a testament to the sheer addictiveness this game can succumb people to. [Editor's note - since writing this, which was admittedly a few weeks ago - sorry, Ed has racked up a total of 531 hours in 2.5 months...].
Following on from last weeks Gamer Informer’s exclusive on South Park: The Game, an RPG being created by Fallout: New Vegas’ Obsidian. New images of actual gameplay have began to surface.
Thanks to a newsletter spotted by Stitch Kingdom, it has been revealed that Disney are working on a sequel to Epic Mickey. Epic Mickey 2 will see everyone’s favourite mouse return not only on Wii but the PS3 and Xbox 360, hopefully for Christmas 2012.
