Eurogamer was the first show I have been to on this scale since the ZX Microfairs of the 80′s. This however made those ZX fairs look more like a village boot fair.

Following on from my previous article: “Old Skool – New World!”, in which I took my PSP back to the 80’s, I’ve now taken the emulation world a step further to almost everybody’s pocket. If you own an Android or iPhone then you have the ability to re-live some fantastic groundbreaking games on these pocket size marvels. Check your marketplace of choice for the basic emulation software, the roms are a little trickier to find but as usual Google is your friend. Here’s a brief glimpse in to what you can achieve.
Rabid petrol heads may be familiar with Speedhunters.com; apparently a worldwide phenomenon bringing a magnetic attraction to Vauxhall Corsa owners, et al. These purveyors of burning the midnight rubber, snacking on donuts in Asda car parks, love nothing better than the smell of a turbo charger in the morning. This DLC is inspired by said website.
Every retro-head like me really looks forward to reboots of classic old games, particularly when they come from one of the Gods of video gaming, Atari. So, when I heard about the reboot of Star Raiders I immediately shoved my hand in the air to do a review.
As an old man, I have a loft full of history dating back to the very first days I dipped my toes into computing and videogames. If possible I would own the entire catalogue of the ‘Vintage Computing’ section on e-Bay.

Bringing history back to life…
Retro is cool, right? Dig out those skin-tight jeans from the back of the wardrobe, squeeze into your Converse All Stars, hide behind your hair, grab your original CND wrist wear and whether you are 20 or 40 you wouldn’t look out of place on the street today, even with the natural grey highlights! The fashion and music industry all go in cycles, but the art of gaming has always moved forward, bigger and better eye melting graphics and heart-exploding soundtracks are best, apparently.
Okay, firstly I have to confess that this top 10 may expand into a top 20, or even 30!
In part 2 of my little retrospective of where our gaming lives began, I have finally entered the era where things really took off, and there are way too many great games to choose from.
Sincere apologies for being a little late to the party with this review, but when you get a game this good it becomes more important to play than write about it.
Firstly, if you have read many reviews already about Little Big Planet 2 you will find nothing new here. I will use all the usual superlatives: awesome, fantastic, groundbreaking, stunning, spectacular, brilliant, amazing, etc.
It is always very difficult to write a ‘best of’ compilation. My thoughts on the subject may be similar to yours, or wildly different, hence they often cause much debate and controversy.
They are also very time specific; most people will pick a ‘Top 10’ from recent memories.
Of course, your favourite genre may also point to your favourite choice. So, today I thought it would be a good idea to simply think of my Top 10 videogames, ever!
